One cannot complain to much with getting a point on a road game. The point gave us 3 outta a possible 6 points so far on the trip. What I am sure Gulutzan was doing after the game was seeing what Mike Smith wanted for Christmas. Without the play of Smith Gulutzan could be on the hot seat.
The first period was the most even out of the three. If we could have gotten on the score sheet we could have stopped their momentum building. Which obviously didn't happen and in the last two periods we simply hung on to our hat and did our best to finish out the ride being outshot close to 2-1 .One of bright spots I found besides the gaff Brodie had on the OT goal I thought he played much better in our own end which in turn made Hamonic look better as well. Kulak continued to impress me back there as well. Our defence in general was pretty decent last night keeping 2nd and 3rd chances away from the net. We just could not get the puck into the other end for any stretch of time. Which usually means our forwards are not getting the job done. The 3m line was the only positive Corsi line of the top 9. The 4th line only seen just over 6min of ice so really hard to judge F.Hamiltons 2nd game at center but never a great sign when the coach isn't giving you minutes to get into the game. We did switch Versteeg and Bennett during the game. Bennett wasn't having his best game but seen little more upside with Versteeg on that line. Sometimes a few switches in lines can jump start your team. Just wasn't a great day for the offence though.
